AITP Competitions

Through membership with the Association of Information Technology Professionals, the student chapter, with the assistance of the CIS Department, participates in two student conferences a year.  In the Fall they attend the Region 3 Student Conference and in the Spring they attend the National Collegiate Conference.  At each conference students participate in a variety of knowledge and skill competitions ranging from Microsoft Office solutions, to Systems Analysis and Design, to JAVA programming.

Texas State Travels: 917 miles on a 57 passenger charter bus for a total of 32 hours

Fall 2013 AITP Region 3 Student Conference

Overall, there were 18 colleges in attendance with 244 total students. Texas State took 44 students and 3 faculty members to the ITT-Technical Institute in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As a whole, the team had a total of 12 conference wins including the Overall Student Chapter for the fourth year in a row! Individual winners included:

The Texas State Chapter also won the Top 'Monkey' Award.  This award is presented to the individual chapter based ona formula of the number of attending members, the distance travelled, and the number of competitions competed in.
 
Overall there were over 700 people in attendance with over 500 students competing over three days of intense competition. Congratulations to all the winners and all of the students.
